Destiny Children

👧🏽 Destiny Children – Support a Brighter Future

Welcome to Destiny Children, a home for 24 amazing children in Moshi, Tanzania, dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for orphans and vulnerable children.
With limited resources but an abundance of love and commitment, Destiny Children is run by Margaret Mponda, a young Tanzanian woman who has devoted her life to giving these children a future filled with hope, dignity, and opportunity.

🙏 How You Can Help

If you would like to support Children of Destiny, there are several impactful ways to contribute:

  • 📦 Meet urgent short-term needs

  • 🏗️ Fund specific improvement projects

  • 🎓 Sponsor a child’s education

  • 💬 Spread the word and become an advocate

Your support—no matter the size—goes directly toward improving the daily lives and long-term prospects of these children. Asante sana!

⚡ Urgent Needs – Immediate Help Goes a Long Way

While basic grocery needs are currently covered, the home is still in urgent need of everyday essentials and infrastructure upgrades. Your donation can help with:

Item Cost
🪟 Wire mesh for all windows To be estimated
🔐 Door locks for 6 rooms + 2 padlocks 160,000 TSH (99 USD / 75 EUR / 63 GBP)
🪑 Office desk and chairs 300,000 TSH (186 USD / 141 EUR / 118 GBP)
🛏️ Bedsheets, curtains, towels 400 USD / 295 EUR / 250 GBP
🥿 Slippers (2 pairs per child) 100 USD / 75 EUR / 68 GBP

These are not luxuries—they are basic necessities that directly affect the safety, comfort, and well-being of the children.

🌱 Ongoing Projects

We’re working on a number of self-sustainability projects that will reduce long-term dependency and provide fresh food, income, and practical learning:

  • 🐟 Fishpond Project – Currently in planning

  • 🥬 Vegetable Garden – Budget: 60 USD / 45 EUR / 36 GBP

  • 🚗 Organization Vehicles – One small car for errands, one van to carry all children

  • 🏡 Secure Permanent Land – 3 acres identified; Cost: 80,000,000 TSH (approx. 49,515 USD / 37,505 EUR / 31,382 GBP)

  • 📆 Monthly Running Costs – 4,188,515 TSH (2,592 USD / 1,963 EUR / 1,643 GBP)

Each project is an investment in the future—empowering the home to provide stability, education, and a sense of family for every child.

🎒 School Sponsorship Opportunities

Education is the path to a better life—but many of our children cannot attend school without help.

Currently, 12 children lack school sponsors. Without sponsorship, they face missing out on education entirely.

School Sponsorship Costs:

  • 💰 Fees: €50 (Nursery) to €110 (6th Class) per term

  • 🎽 Uniform: €22 per child

  • 🍛 Lunch: €7–€25 per term

  • 👟 School shoes: 709,500 TSH for 24 pairs
    (Approx. 452 USD / 333 EUR / 279 GBP)

Sponsorship is not only about finances—we welcome mentors who will build a relationship with a child and follow their educational journey.
