Education is a powerful force for change—but for many African children, access remains a challenge due to financial hardship. At African Child Welfare Foundation (ACWF), we believe no child should be denied education simply because they can’t afford it.

That’s why we created the Student Assistance Project—a structured, transparent system for sponsorship, mentorship, and educational support.

🌐 Bridging the Gap: Distant Sponsors & Local Needs

Many generous individuals and organizations around the world are willing to sponsor a child’s education, but they often face important questions:

  • How do I know the money is being used as intended?

  • Who ensures the student is enrolled and attending school?

  • Will I receive updates or progress reports?

That’s where ACWF steps in. We act as the honest, local intermediary—a trustworthy bridge between:

  • Sponsors who are eager to help, and

  • Beneficiaries—students, families, and schools in need.

Our role includes:

  • Identifying students in genuine need

  • Verifying school enrollment and fee structures

  • Ensuring that funds are properly allocated and receipted

  • Providing updates and feedback to sponsors

  • Monitoring academic progress and wellbeing

👩🏾‍🏫 Who Can Be Sponsored?

Children and youth in various stages of education:

  • Primary school students

  • Secondary school students

  • Orphans or vulnerable children from marginalized communities

  • Exceptional students at risk of dropping out due to financial constraints

Sponsorship can cover:

  • Tuition and exam fees

  • Uniforms and school supplies

  • Meals and boarding (if applicable)

  • Special learning needs (books, tutoring, transportation)

🔍 ACWF carefully screens all beneficiaries to ensure genuine need and accountability.

🤝 How Sponsorship Works

  1. Get in Touch – Let us know you’re interested in sponsoring a student.

  2. Student Match – We identify a suitable student based on your preferences (age, location, level of education).

  3. Funding & Follow-up – You send funds directly to ACWF; we disburse and track the support provided.

  4. Updates – Receive regular reports, letters, photos, and progress updates from the student.

Transparency, integrity, and communication are core to our sponsorship model.

🏛️ Future Plans: University Assistance Center

In addition to supporting students in primary and secondary education, ACWF is laying the groundwork for a University Assistance Center, where young people can receive:

  • Help with student loan applications

  • Guidance on university and college admissions

  • Support with documentation and financial aid

  • Mentorship for career and academic planning
